Mercury Premium Giveback

California | April 28, 2020

As previously announced, Mercury will be giving back 15% of monthly private passenger automobile (PPA) premiums for two month-long periods in light of the COVID-19 environment and we wanted to provide additional details about how these premiums will be given back to customers.

The period for California premium givebacks will begin on March 19, 2020, coinciding with the state’s shelter-in-place order.  Customers with an outstanding balance on the current policy term will receive a credit in early May for the period of March 19th - April 30th and a second credit in June, for the period of May 1st - May 18th.  Refunds will be provided to customers whose policies have been paid in full. Customers who paid with a check or through EFT will receive a check in the mail and those who paid via credit card will receive a refund back to the card used to pay their premiums.

Due to the ever-changing nature of this situation, Mercury’s response may continue to evolve, and we appreciate your patience and support. If you have any questions, please contact your United Agencies Representative.
