Apple announced they were closing down the iTunes application and spinning it off into three different programs. I was struck with some heavy nostalgia. I remember the first time I downloaded iTunes onto my computer and later to my phone. Music and movies immediately available, what a magical world!

The odd thing is, I largely stopped using iTunes almost 10 years ago (still use some of the Apple apps, but not iTunes), but still felt an attachment? An example of a very positive product innovation or interaction having a long lasting impact.

iTunes should be an inspiration to anyone who provides a service or produces a product: big innovation jumps and surprisingly good service can create long-lasting positive feelings with your target market, which keeps clients even after you stop doing the thing that made them a fan in the first place.
